If your physician orders therapy as part of your treatment plan, it may include:

*Physical Therapy. Our physical therapists can use a variety of techniques to assist in your recovery. These may include therapeutic massage, manual techniques, electrotherapy, therapeutic exercise, and pain management techniques.

*Speech/Language Pathology. Our speech and language pathologists evaluate and treat communication disorders, including problems with oral and written language, speaking skills and use of voice, and stuttering. We also have speech therapists certified in Vita Stim Therapy, the newest technique in treating swallowing disorders.

*Industrial Rehabilitation. Our therapists use special programs to address injury prevention and injured worker rehabilitation. Injury prevention programs provide on-site training and special services for local companies. Injured worker programs include clinical rehabilitation, job-specific work conditioning programs, functional capacity evaluations and recommendations for modified duty programs.

If you are recovering from an injury, illness or surgery involving your spine or back, Ephraim McDowell Spine Physical Therapy can help you return to maximum functional ability.

Ephraim McDowell Spine Physical Therapy patients have access to the pool at McDowell Wellness Center. For many muscular and neurologic diseases, aquatic treatment can help reduce pain, decrease pressure on the nervous system and allow strengthening that otherwise may provoke pain in a traditional, land-based therapeutic program.

Kids Can Do Pediatric Therapy Center

If your child needs therapy services, trust the licensed therapists at Kids Can Do Pediatric Therapy Center, the only therapy center dedicated to pediatrics in south central Kentucky.

• We provide comprehensive pediatric physical, occupational and speech-language therapy services in a child-friendly, family-focused environment for children from birth to age 21.
• Our therapists use a team approach to provide individualized care, involving families while promoting each child's development and independence.

• The Sequential Oral Sensory feeding program is a sensory based, family and child-centered approach to feeding.  Occupational and speech therapists certified in the SOS programming assess and treat children with severe feeding delays, food aversions and limited numbers of foods in their diets.
• The Lite Gait and Gait Keeper treadmill are used in physical therapy for the best practice approach to gait training.
• Free screenings available by appointment. Our therapists can also be scheduled to perform screening clinics in physician offices.
