Code Pink policy updated As the JCAHO survey at
Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center approaches, Associates are
reminded to be aware of their responses to all codes.
The Code Pink policy was recently updated.
The main points to remember are: á
Any Associate should call 1011 if
they suspect an infant has been abducted. á
The operator will announce the
Code Pink on the P.A. system four times. á
All staff with Code Pink
assignments will respond as outlined in the infant/child abductions
response plan. It is important
that all exits be secured as quickly as possible.
Department directors have instructed specific Associates on their
duties in the event of a Code Pink. á Any suspicious persons will be reported to Security. If the abductor is caught or approached, Associates will not attempt to confront them but instead should notify Security and follow the person until police arrive.
Fort Logan hosting motorcycle run Fort Logan Hospital will kick off its United Way campaign October 9 with a
motorcycle run beginning at 11 a.m. The
ride will cover approximately 100 miles and conclude with a meal of chili,
sandwiches and dessert at the Specialty Clinic.
Entry fees are $10 per bike and rider and $5 per co-rider.
Proceeds benefit United Way.
Closer parking spaces at EMRMC Have you ever wished that
you could find a closer parking space to EMRMC?
Associates who donate 1 hour of pay per month to the Heart of
Kentucky United Way have their name entered in a monthly drawing for a
reserved parking space. For
more details on how you can donate to the United Way, please call Human
Resources at ext. 3453. Please remember that the United Way parking spaces are reserved only for those Associates who have won the monthly drawing and have been contacted by the United Way committee. All others will be asked to move.
Fort Logan invests in Bi-PAP machine Fort Logan Hospital is enhancing the services it provides to patients
through the purchase of a Bi-PAP machine, which will be used with patients
who have chronic respiratory
disease or congestive heart failure. During
the first two months after the hospital purchased the equipment, it was
used 15 days and prevented the intubation and transfer of five patients.
Patients who have used the machine are pleased with it.
