Code Pink policy updated

As the JCAHO survey at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center approaches, Associates are reminded to be aware of their responses to all codes.  The Code Pink policy was recently updated.  The main points to remember are:

á Any Associate should call 1011 if they suspect an infant has been abducted.

á The operator will announce the Code Pink on the P.A. system four times.

á All staff with Code Pink assignments will respond as outlined in the infant/child abductions response plan.  It is important that all exits be secured as quickly as possible.  Department directors have instructed specific Associates on their duties in the event of a Code Pink.

á Any suspicious persons will be reported to Security.  If the abductor is caught or approached, Associates will not attempt to confront them but instead should notify Security and follow the person until police arrive.
