Community Education Classes

COMMUNITY CPR FOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS
October 13 & 14; November 10 & 11; December 8 & 9, 2008
9 a.m. to Noon or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

CHILDBIRTH CLASSES
October 13, 20, 27; December 8, 15, 22, 2008
7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Location: Breckinridge Room in the Gilcher Building

MOMS ON THE MOVE
This is a six-week exercise class for women, who may join the class at any time.
Each Monday and Wednesday, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
We also offer a Deep Water Class, each Tuesday and Thursday, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Cost: Free for members; $50 for non-members
Location: McDowell Wellness Center

SIBLINGS CLASS
October 9; December 11, 2008
6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Location: Meet at the Nursery on the Women’s Health Unit

PREPARING TO BREASTFEED
October 28; November 25; December 16, 2008
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Location: Jane Todd Crawford Room at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center

DIABETES SELF-MANAGEMENT
This is an educational program, provided in a group format and recognized by the American Diabetes Association, for individuals with newly-diagnosed diabetes or uncontrolled diabetes. New referrals are scheduled on Tuesdays from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. For information, call (859)239-1820. To make a referral, call (859)239-1282.

SMOKING CESSATION
These free support group meetings are sponsored by the Boyle County Health Department. Call (859)236-2053 to register for next available class.

MEDICAID NURSE AID COURSE
October 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, 29, 31; November 3, 4, & 5, 2008
8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Location: Barton Room in the Gilcher Building
Cost: $525, which includes a book and workbook, the cost for state boards and CPR certification.
