Ephraim McDowell Diagnostic Center is a new name
from a trusted name in the community
October 26, 2004 - Danville, Kentucky - Ephraim McDowell
Regional Medical Center has changed the name of its
Southtown Center facility, located at 101 Daniel Drive
in Danville, to Ephraim McDowell Diagnostic Center.
"Many people in the community trust the name Ephraim
McDowell for quality medical care," said Mary R.
Begley, director of marketing and organizational planning
at Ephraim McDowell Health. "As we continue to
grow to meet our patients' needs, we now offer a new
name in diagnostics from a trusted name in the community."
The name change comes as the Medical Center has enhanced
its diagnostic services with Open MRI (Magnetic Resonance
Imaging) equipment at Ephraim McDowell Diagnostic Center
and a new 1.5 Tesla MRI at the Medical Center.
"Changing the name to Ephraim McDowell Diagnostic
Center reflects our enhancement
of the comprehensive diagnostic services provided at
the facility, which complement the enhanced services
we offer at the Medical Center," said Barry Michael,
president of Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Besides Open MRI, Ephraim McDowell Diagnostic Center
also offers mammography, X-ray, bone densitometry, EKG,
holter monitoring and laboratory services. A new 16-slice
CT scanner will be available at the Diagnostic Center
beginning in January.
Services are provided Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.
to 7 p.m. using the latest technology available. Plenty
of parking is available for the convenience of patients.
The facility's extended hours are also more convenient
to some people's schedules.
"Another plus of having services performed at the
Diagnostic Center is the fact that a person's medical
records are maintained in a centralized database and
therefore are available as needed in the future,"
Begley said.
Ephraim McDowell Diagnostic Center is also home to outpatient
Behavioral Health Services, which are located on the
second floor. Outpatient services are provided by Dr.
Melborne Williams Jr., a board-certified psychiatrist,
and licensed mental health counselors. Services include
individual, group, family and marital therapy as well
as grief counseling, domestic violence and crisis intervention
management. |
