Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital (EMJBHH) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Beverly Shifflett, RN, an Emergency Department nurse, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Mercer County, Beverly has been caring for patients at EMJBHH for the past 42 years. She started as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 1975 while still in high school and continued working at Haggin until she obtained her Registered Nurse’s license in 1978. Beverly has worked in most every department in the hospital and even served as the Emergency Department Director for 13 years.
She was nominated for the award by a patient who said, “Beverly’s attitude and bedside manner is over the top. She shows caring for other people and truly loves her patients. She is the full package and Haggin is lucky to have her on staff.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital and Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital.
