What is a Hospitalist?
During your hospital stay at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, your medical care may be provided by a doctor called a Hospitalist. A Hospitalist is a physician who specializes in the care of hospitalized patients and will be in close contact with your admitting physician or primary care physician to keep them informed regarding your treatment and care. Your regular doctor may still come by to check on you and can be involved in your care. Our Hospitalists are board-certified physicians and will be providing you the highest level of care.
