This hospital serves the citizens of Mercer County, while patients from surrounding counties also rely on the hospital for their health care needs. Although small, Ephraim McDowell James B Haggin Hospital maintains the same standards of excellence in care and customer service that patients will find at all Ephraim McDowell Health facilities.

The hospital provides inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, including cardiac rehabilitation. Imaging services include X-ray, MRI, digital mammography and a spiral CT scanner.

The hospital campus is home to Ephraim McDowell Dedman Primary Care, a primary care clinic that provides walk-in care on weekends. In addition, Ephraim McDowell Mercer Pediatrics is located on the hospital campus. Also on campus is Ephraim McDowell MedSource, a retail store that provides home medical equipment to the community.

The Ephraim McDowell Wound Healing Center moved to the hospital in June 2021. The move provided larger patient rooms that accommodate wheelchairs and stretchers and state-of-the-art equipment.
