If you have diabetes or have noticed changes in your body, such as unusual fatigue or weight gain, you may need a referral to an endocrinologist. In the practice of endocrinology, a physician diagnoses and treats conditions related to a person’s hormones. This includes hormone-secreting glands and certain organs in the body that make up the endocrine system.

We have an endocrinologist who is trained in diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism. You can trust her to provide excellent care for treating and managing your condition. She treats adults, offering personalized care close to home.

Common Conditions Treated

One condition that our endocrinologist can treat and manage is diabetes. This includes Type 1 diabetes and Type 2 diabetes. Diabetes is a common illness in the United States, and especially in Kentucky. Left untreated, the disease can lead to many serious complications.

In addition, our endocrinologist can develop treatment and management plans for thyroid disease. That includes hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, Graves’ disease, and thyroid nodules.

Our endocrinologist can also treat other conditions including osteopenia, osteoporosis, Vitamin D deficiency, obesity, high blood pressure and disorders of the pituitary and adrenal glands.
