Surgery

Patients needing surgery at any of Ephraim McDowell Health’s three hospitals or the Central Kentucky Surgery Center can have confidence that their care is in the hands of highly-skilled surgical teams dedicated to quality. In fact, our rigorous standards of care earned Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center recognition as a leader in surgical care throughout the state of Kentucky. The esteemed Joint Commission awarded us Gold Seals of Approval™ for total knee, total hip and spinal surgery. This makes Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center the only hospital in Kentucky to hold this distinguished honor.

We also have two surgical practices staffed by board-certified general surgeons who are credentialed to perform minor surgical procedures in their offices and also have privileges at our hospitals to perform procedures such as hernia repair, appendectomies, gallbladder surgeries, mastectomies, and colon surgeries. Those two practices are Ephraim McDowell Central Kentucky Surgeons, located at 130 Daniel Drive in Danville, and Ephraim McDowell General Surgery, located at 125 Portman Avenue in Stanford.

Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center has invested in modern, state-of-the-art operating rooms and the highly-sophisticated da Vinci Surgical Robot. The da Vinci robot means less-invasive surgeries with lower risks for infections and quicker recovery. Just another example of Ephraim McDowell’s commitment to providing our patients with the best care available.

We provide pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric surgical services at all our locations. Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital and Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital are all designated Trauma Centers, which means certified emergency and surgical teams are ready in the event of traumatic injuries. So, whether you need outpatient surgery or inpatient surgery, Ephraim McDowell has multiple locations to serve you.
